Drenda Barnett

McKenna Birmingham
McKenna Birmingham comes from the dancing family who own and direct Dance Continuum in Bedford, Texas. McKenna received the Charles Andrew Kulp Memorial Scholarship and attended The Julliard School Summer Workshop. She also performed her scholarship solo as a “gift” for Natalie Skelton’s 90th Birthday Bash. She is a senior at Booker T Washington in Dallas. View Website
Julie Bonk
Julie Bonk is one of those rare musicians who expresses from deep within her soul, giving unique life and color to everything she plays. She completed her studies at UNT where she received her Bachelor of Music Degree in Jazz Performance. Julie has performed with such notables as Bob Hope, Buggs Henderson. The Supremes, The Drifters, The Platters, Z.Z. Hill, Henry Franklin and Sunship. Ms. Bonk is a well-respected and accomplished piano teacher in Jazz and Blues improvisation, composition, music theory, performance techniques, and vocal styling. Mark Carroll
Mark Carroll is one of the most in demand singer-pianists in the nation. He has played engagements all over the world, including the Plaza in New York, The palmer House in Chicago, Beverly Rodeo Hotel in Beverly Hills, Harrah’s in Reno and Lake Tahoe, The Fairmont in San Francisco, Princess Hotel in the Bahamas, Eden Rock in Miami, and the Mansion on Turtle Creek. He has recorded three albums. His latest CD is “Reaching for the Moon” on Eclipse Records. The Queen of Cabaret, Julie Wilson, has called him “incomparable” and Rex Reed has referred to him in print as a “musical icon.” Mr. Carroll is currently very much in demand at Dallas Society Parties and has vocal coached many stars including Barbara Eden, Jeri Southern, and Marlene Deitrich.
Gary Floyd
Gary Floyd is impossible to listen to without smiling. Just can’t happen. Long one of Dallas’ favorite singer-songwriters, Gary has set hearts aflutter at local nightclubs and piano bars for years with his laidback charm and velvety voice. The Dallas Observer raves that his smooth original ballads pound with soul and fire. Tony Hakim
Tony Hakim has been a positive music force in the Dallas - Fort Worth jazz scene for over 15 years, playing both solo performance and collaboratively. His mellow guitar styles and winsome vocals have won him much acclaim and a devoted following worldwide. His first CD, "Postcards From You," is packed with a delightful assortment of original tunes, while his latest CD's, "Summer Place" and "Two For The Road", and show off his definitive style as he interprets the works of the legends of the music world. Rusty Johnson
Rusty Johnson has been called one the most promising young saxophonists in Dallas. Born and raised in the Midwest, Rusty migrated south to pursue a Master's degree in jazz studies at the University of North Texas. Since that move, he has become one of the busiest musicians in the Dallas metro while managing a tour schedule that has taken him from the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C., to clubs and conferences in Texas and California. Rusty combines a Paul Desmond-like sound with the expressive technique of a vocalist to create his truly unique voice on the saxophone. He specializes in jazz, pop, and contemporary worship, dazzling and inspiring audiences.
Jennifer Washington
If the name Jennifer Washington was listed in the dictionary, it would be: Multiplicity. It is difficult to categorize this lady of substance. Jennifer is an artist in every sense of the word. She is a contemporary gospel and jazz recording artist, songwriter, published poet and costume designer to name a few. Like most singers, her roots began in church. She is a resident of Dallas and graduate from the University of North Texas in Denton. Jennifer’s life experiences are heard in the vintage style she emits, and there is sunshine with every musical note she exults. Her serene yet strong sound has been compared to a continuous waterfall. In 2005 she was to study with Dallas’s own legendary society pianist and vocalist Merck Carroll and completed her first jazz CD which is a compilation of old standards that were once made very popular by jazz masters like Sarah Vaughn and Nancy Wilson.
